Endrigna Ecovillage: volunteer testimonials for life-changing ecological and human experience

Becoming a volunteer at Endrigna Ecovillage, located in the heart of the Andasibe region in Madagascar, is far more than an ecological stay. It is a deep human experience, a meaningful commitment to environmental protection, and a journey that leaves a lasting impact on everyone involved.

Through the testimonials of volunteers, this article highlights the real impact of Endrigna Ecovillage on nature, on local communities, and on the people who choose to engage with the project.

Endrigna Ecovillage team ready to take on the challenge of sustainable change in Andasibe.

Nestled near the rainforests of Andasibe, Endrigna Ecovillage is committed to community-based reforestation, agroecology, and environmental education. Its mission is simple yet powerful: to protect Madagascar’s unique biodiversity while supporting the autonomy and well-being of local communities.

The ecovillage takes its name from the Endrigna (Indri indri), the largest living lemur, a strong symbol of wisdom, balance, and respect for nature.

Volunteers live close to the forest, surrounded by a preserved ecosystem, far from mass tourism. This immersion allows them to understand the local environmental challenges and the fragile balance of Madagascar’s ecosystems.

At Endrigna Ecovillage, volunteering is never superficial. Every action contributes to real change:

  • reforestation using native tree species,
  • support for agroecological activities,
  • environmental awareness and education,
  • participation in daily community life.

“Endrigna Ecovillage is an inspiring project with a noble cause. This mission motivates me to work for lasting change, serving both biodiversity and local communities.”
