Our activities

Forest restoration

To restore the forest ecosystem of Ampangalatsary, Endrigna Ecovillage is carrying out landscape reforestation activities.
With 3 hectares of primary forest preserved, the goal of this restoration is to reach up to 5 hectares per year

These actions are based on:

Village nurseries

Directly managed by the local teams of Endrigna Ecovillage, which produce seedlings and encourage active community participation.

Showcase nursery

A model and educational space that demonstrates best practices in seedling production and serves as a training resource for farmers, youth, and interested partners.

Agroecology showcase

Aiming sustainability and innovation, an agroforestry model is being implemented, combining food crops with agroforestry trees. This system enhances soil productivity, promotes biodiversity, diversifies farmers’ income sources by ensuring food security for the communities.

Otherwise, we are advancing towards self-sufficiency in organic fertilizers (high biomass green fertilizers), which are as essential.

Agroforestry systems based on hedges

Which protects crops, enhances biodiversity, and naturally enriches the soil

Permaculture vegetable gardens

Designed to produce a variety of nutritious foods while respecting natural cycles.

Insect hotels

Which promotes pollination and helps maintain an ecological balance beneficial to crops.

Tourism led community

This component aims to allow visitors to experience an immersion in community life while directly supporting local needs: food security, equipment, and education. It also promotes frequent exchanges, strengthening collaboration with local communities, who are genuine drivers of change and guardians of the territory’s sustainable development.

Bootcamp

Endrigna Ecovillage organizes a bootcamp to encourage visitors to take part in this adventure with nature. The objectives are to promote ecotourism and agrotourism while providing participants with an intensive training and hands-on experience.

Social support

Children’s education

This year, approximately 32 families with 130 children live in Ampangalatsary, who are not currently enrolled in school. The lack of access to education, due to both neglect of this fundamental right and the long distance to the nearest school is contributing to widespread illiteracy.
In response, Endrigna Ecovillage aims to establish an educational center with programs tailored to the community’s needs.

Training on income-generating activities

Endrigna Ecovillage supports local entrepreneurship to strengthen community resilience. This is achieved through training sessions and workshops that develop sustainable and profitable activities for them.
